Documentation and Fact Finding

DWG is a research-based organisation. Our research is based and data and facts. To support our research team, DWG has a Documentation Team that keeps the organisation updated with the state of democracy and human rights in the country. The work of the Documentation Team is to gather and document relevant information for fact-finding purposes from both online and offline publications, and other reports related to the topics.
Key topics we focus on:

  • Political activities of the non-ruling parties and ruling parties
  • The government’s reaction to the political activities of the ruling parties
  • Use of the state force to stop the political activities of the opposition parties
  • Crackdown on the opposition party leaders and activists
  • Violating of the democratic rights of the people by the ruling party and law enforcement institute
  • Elections
  • Extrajudicial killings
  • Torture
  • Custodial deaths/death in jail
  • Enforced Disappearances
  • Human rights violations
  • Freedom of speech
  • Freedom of the Media

The documentation team develops separate tables and graphs of the reported and published in mainstream publications to determine and analyse the rise or fall of such incidents which are used by our research team to generate reports.
